Up until 2018, rankings were calculated as follows: each archer’s three best finishes (indoors, two for outdoor events) are averaged. If an archer only shoots two events, a 99 is entered for the third event. Similarly if the archer only shot one event, 99 would be entered for the other two events. In case of a tie, total arrows are used for the tiebreaker. Each event consists of a maximum 600 points, except for the 2006 SAAM Mail In tournament which was a 300 round; so these scores, if used, were doubled. Scores from the Indoor Nationals which is a 1200 round were only used in the event of a tie.
