How to Represent the U.S.
in 2017 International Events.

 This year, there are many opportunities to represent the U.S. team in international competitions around the globe. Archers can compete for spots on the Master, Senior, Para, Barebow, Junior or Cadet United States Archery Teams (USAT) and many will represent the U.S. at the Archery World Cup and World Championships events.

October 22, 2017 -  Mexico City

Congratulations to the two New Englanders competing at the Hyundai World Archery Championships in Mexico City this past week:  Thomas Stanwood (Male Recurve) and
Braden  Gellenthien (Male Compound).

While Thomas was ousted in the first elimination round, Braden finished with two medals: an individual bronze and a team gold.  All results here.  Congratulations to both archers!

December 3, 2017 - Hudson, MA

Over 160 archers participated in the MA State Indoor & JOAD Championships hosted by Riverside Archers at the Riverside Gun Club this weekend.  Local newspapers covered the event.

USA Archery Shares Updates to Event Rules for 2017

USA Archery is making changes to the 2017 event format. Please read to get an idea of what to expect in 2017.

2017 National Senior Games - Birmingham, AL

Six local archers traveled to Birmingham, AL earlier in June to compete in the 2017 National Senior Games.  One archer, Anne Gallant, set new Games records for a 900 round and high tournament score.  Congratulations Anne! And congratulations to all the archers.  Great Job!!

Local archers qualify for 2017 Regional Dream Team!

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – Last year, USA Archery introduced a new program into its athlete development pipeline: The Regional Dream Team (RDT). A prerequisite program for recurve archers who would like to attend Recurve JDT camp as an invitee, the East and West Regional Dream Teams are comprised of dedicated and promising recurve archers from each region of the country. This self-funded program is for archers looking to improve their skills and gain access to the best-quality training in some of the most excellent archery training facilities in the world with a dedicated set of USA Archery certified coaches.

SAAM appoints 2017-2018 Executive Board.

Following the August 13 annual meeting, SAAM said goodbye to long time treasurer Verna Semple.  Verna had scaled back her involvement with SAAM’s finances and gradually transferred fiduciary responsibilities to Brian O’Hearne.  She will continue her work on the Judges and the Scholarship committees.
The board appointed alternate member Olivia Morin to a new three-year term to fill the seat vacated by Verna.  
The board reappointed the
officers to a new  one-year term:

President - Amanda Ferrie;

Vice-President - Lise Trahan;

Secretary - Alan Rudolph;

Treasurer  -  Brian O’Hearne.

USA Archery Releases 2018 National Events Schedule

SEPT. 05, 2017, 12:06 P.M. (ET)

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – The 2018 USA Archery event season will be jam packed with fun and competitive events across the nation. Mark your calendars because you will not want to miss these!

First up, the U.S. and JOAD National Indoor Championships will be contested in thirteen regional locations across five weekends. New this year, the top eight archers in the male and female recurve and compound divisions will compete in an exciting head to head finals event on March 9th in Cincinnati, Ohio. More information on qualification and this Finals event to come.

The Indoor Nationals Schedule is as follows:

January 19-21: Utah, Florida
February 2-4: New Mexico
February 16-18: Sacramento, California
February 23-25: Georgia, Ohio, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Michigan
March 2-4: Texas, Minnesota, Virginia, and Chula Vista, California
