Following the Annual Meeting, held on-line as a Zoom meeting this year, on August 22, SAAM has reorganized its Board of Directors.  Maryanne Spence tended her resignation. One new member was nominated and appointed to the Board of Directors: Dan Mongeau. The Board welcomed a new Alternate Member this year, Mark Garriepy.  Finally the Board re-appointed the following officers for the 2020/2021 session:

President: Amanda Ferrie-Arberman;
Vice-President: Lise Trahan;
Secretary: Alan Rudolph;
Treasurer: Brian O’Hearne.

Your participation is required, yes required. The Board needs input from the community and as such has a number of open position for representatives for all segments of the archery community. Not much is asked from these representatives, just share your passion with the Members of the Board, tell them what you’d like to see for your community. C’mon, we know you like to talk about it.

Think about it and check it out here.  Thank you.

Tournament Cancellation

The SAAM Board of Directors made the difficult decision at its January meeting to not host the annual USA Archery Indoor National Championship and the 2021 JOAD National Championship because of the State mandated restrictions in place due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Board recognizes that this decision will disappoint many archers and apologizes for this. The Board will attempt to schedule the 2021 State Indoors and JOAD Championships later this year once restrictions are lifted and the health crisis permits a return to larger indoor gatherings. Again please accept the Board’s apologies for canceling this event. Stay healthy.

The archery community lost a young archer recently, Nathan Kilpatrick passed away on February 24.

SAAM would like to express their sincere condolences to the Kilpatrick family and to the
Riverside Archers.

The archery family of Massachusetts and New England lost a dear friend this week.
We are deeply saddened to share with you that Lucy Tabit passed away on June 15th
from complications from cancer treatment.

Lucy was an archery mom, a coach, a USA Archery National Judge and a former member
of the SAAM Board of Directors. We offer our deepest condolences to her daughter Hana
and husband Richard, and know that we are thinking of you in this most difficult time.
